What Mayfair Ghost access does

  • Who it is for

    Government staff and licensed or registered professionals with a lawful purpose. It is not open to the general public.

  • Seven clear steps

    Your role, photo ID and a live selfie, proof of your role, a code sent to your work email, a named referee, a statement of what you will use it for, and the terms.

  • Checked by people

    No program approves anyone. A reviewer works through ten checks, writes a note against each, and a second reviewer confirms by default.

  • Your documents are protected

    Photos are encrypted one by one, shown only to a reviewer who must write down why, logged every time they are opened, and deleted 30 days after the decision.

  • Sensitive tools start switched off

    Tools such as active scanning and automatic image geolocation stay off until a reviewer switches them on for your account, with a recorded reason.

  • Approval lasts 12 months

    Renewal opens 60 days before it ends. Access can be removed at once, and Ghost locks the next time it checks.

  • Your referee confirms with no account

    They get a link, confirm they know you and your role, and that is recorded.

  • Linked to your Mayfair ID

    The Ghost desktop app asks Mayfair ID whether your account may use it. You need a confirmed recovery email and two step sign in first.

Good to know

Plain facts about the limits, so nothing comes as a surprise.

  • Submitting an application never approves anything. Refused applicants are told why and when they can apply again (14 days by default).
  • Ghost must not be used to find, follow, frighten or harass a private person. You accept this in the terms.
  • Identity documents are only ever sent through this Mayfair page, never through the Mayfair Organization website.

Twelve months. You can renew in the 60 days before it ends.
